To celebrate 50 years of the iconic
Arne Jacobsen Egg chair, artist
Tal R has created 50 unique designs of the chair, which were revealed this past week at the furniture fair in Milan. The 50 designs will be exhibited at Galleria Carla Sozzani through April 27, and then will travel to galleries and museums around the world.
The patchwork-
quilt Egg chair designs are made from materials collected in such far corners as Istanbul and Denmark.

Just as the Egg Chair
celebrates its 50th year, it's only fitting that an equally delightful, yet derivative, design come to shore. Welcome
the Lobster Chair (inquire for price). Created by yet another Danish firm, Lund & Paarmann, "Lobster" looks suspiciously similar to Mr.

The world famous Egg chair, designed by Danish architect Arne Jacobsen in 1958 and manufactured by Fritz Hansen, will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year by releasing 999 limited-edition designs. The limited-edition collection will debut a chocolate-brown suede back and chocolate-brown leather upholstery, and a hand-polished, solid-bronze base. Each chair will be marked with a unique number and brief history of the celebrated design, and be accompanied by a limited-edition 50th anniversary book.
