Life isn't fair. Really, and truly. You know how I love Lucite.

For some reason, I feel like there are so many side tables that I adore, but not nearly as much seating to put them beside. I'd easily snatch up the West Elm Faux Shagreen Side Table ($79.99) — what a great price! — if I had a need for it.

Who wouldn't want a life-size pig table? I personally think it's the bee's knees (or maybe the pig's feet). This Moooi Pig Table ($2,668) is over five feet long, and features a small tray for holding your martini.

You know I've had Morocco on my mind lately, and that I'm always on the lookout for a good bargain. So, it's no wonder that The Company Store Casablanca Side Table ($53) jumped off the page at me. I have a sneaking suspicion that the low price of this table could be explained by MDF material (that info is conveniently left out).

In Rimrock Ranch, a home near Palm Springs designed by architect Lloyd Russell, which was recently featured in the LA Times, spare modern architecture lends an urban style to the cowboy roots of the desert. Here, the steps to a kitchen set between two suites have a dual purpose. The wood planks were extended to serve as a side table for the rustic couch beside the staircase, relieving the need for additional furnishings.

Artists For Humanity (AFH) is a Boston-based group whose mission is to "bridge economic, racial, and social divisions by providing urban youth with the keys to self-sufficiency through paid employment in the arts," essentially offering youth apprenticeships. A group of teen artists working with AFH were inspired by the AFH's EpiCenter, Boston's only LEED Platinum building (the highest designation of the US Green Building Council) and in response, decided to create a green furniture line, as they'd noticed a need in the market for innovative sustainable design. After months of research and development, the teens and their mentors launched ReVision Tables, a collection of small tables constructed from reclaimed junk mail and magazines, finished with a water-resistant , no-VOC, eco-friendly resin, which is also easy to clean with other eco-friendly products.

What could be more glamorous than a combination of hand-applied gold leaf, a mirror top, and feminine curves on an Art Deco side table? Nothing seems to come to mind. The Worlds Away Bennito Side Table ($1180) is an Eva Zeisel-meets-Grace-Kelly furnishing for the modern woman.
