When I recently spent some time in my home state of Wisconsin, I was wowed by the gorgeous skies. It seems as if we never get the same dramatic, cumulus cloud formations in the Bay Area, so I was excited to stare at the sky in the late afternoons, enjoying the view. Of course, these clouds also made me think of ways they could be adapted into your home.

For someone who plays a Jackass on television, Johnny Knoxville has
surprisingly good taste in real estate. His soon-to-be-sold '20s Mediterranean villa has great bones and gorgeous features. However, I think that whoever staged this bedroom for photos fell a little short when it came to dressing up the room.

What You're Wanting, I wanted to know how you'd create a stylish Summer porch.
As usual, your creativity and thoughtful choices left me impressed. Now I wish our house had a porch.

In case you don't already
own cheese serving tools, I went shopping for stylish cheese serving trays and found a fabulous selection. They run the gamut from ornate and over-the-top to sleek and minimalist. My favorite is this marble tray with silver bamboo hardware ($78); it's got the perfect amount of flair and will look excellent displaying everything from a pungent blue to a sharp cheddar.

I've had my eye on this brilliantly printed
Ditte Sofa ( on sale for $1,799.95, was $3,498) for many moons now. The adorable fabric design is by way of
Marimekko, and the Teflon-coated canvas will help to ensure that any coffee stains or unfortunate wine accidents will wash right out. With a kiln-dried hardwood frame and a polyfill-down blend stuffing, this sofa will be both wildly attractive and wonderfully sturdy.

Historically, needlepoint may be thought of as women's work, but needlepoint was practiced by some totally fierce women. My favorite mythological needleworker is Penelope, who, in Homer's The Odyssey, fooled all of the men around her for three years with her needlework. Penelope's husband Odysseus was out on various adventures and presumed dead, and her new suitors were put off by Penelope's promise that she'd choose one of them after she finished stitching her father's death shroud.

I don't know whether it's the sweltering heat or being cooped up inside on a sunny day, but when it's Summer, it seems all I want to do is kick back and relax in the sun, frosty cocktail in hand. My solution. Plotting out the
margarita I'm going to make when it's five o'clock and I'm shopping for festive glassware that could be used to serve my beverage.

I couldn't take take my eyes off of
Leighton Meester's colorblock dress from Chloe's Spring collection when I saw it recently on FabSugar. I immediately started thinking of home items that are also inspired by colorblock patterns, such as this
Rive Droite Swivel Chair With Pucci Fabric ($4,160) from Unica Home. I love the sense of whimsy that colorblocking brings to otherwise staid pieces.
To see the other accents and furniture pieces I've found that also feature colorblocking, .

FabSugar recently issued a Trend Alert on
modern patchwork in fashion. I've been noticing this same trend in the home world as well. Since it's easy to err on the side of hippie excess, I advise starting slowly with this trend, and then gradually adding more accessories if you like the way patchwork or paisley accents update your home.
