The irony of street art meeting my laptop isn't lost on me; I'm charmed, and yet a little perplexed, by this meeting. Dutch artist Parra brings his
Parra Laptop Sleeve ($60) from InCase, and though the design is derived from graffiti, I think the actual motif is pretty pleasant.
There are days when the design might be a little too loud, though, and I'd maybe like it on something smaller (the design is also available as a
Slider Case for the iPhone 3G), but I'm not sure.

We've been throwing around the word recession in connection with the US economy for some time now — everything from
recession-proof jobs to
recession-proof beauty is common vocabulary. However, in a statement released just today, the National Bureau of Economic Research confirmed that the
economy has been in a recession since December 2007.
The last time the economy was in a recession was 2001, after the tech bubble burst.

When it comes to body image issues, it's safe to say that many of us have trouble accepting our bodies as they are. For every positive influence there seems to be one negative, which makes it even more difficult to believe that perfection is an unattainable and unproductive goal. Health should be the number-one concern when we're getting fit and making the best eating choices — but then again, we all have personal ideas of an ideal physical appearance.

Santa Claus is coming to town and well, he's already at the mall! Whether you use the snapshot of your kids with St. Nick for
holiday cards or to showcase on the mantel, many families make posing for one an annual tradition.

An avid iPhone app watch site has reported that Apple has reached a huge milestone —
a grand total of 10,000 apps (or thereabouts, they concede).
I certainly feel like I've
looked at 10,000 apps and tested out nearly that many, but when it comes down to it, I edit quite harshly on my iPhone. I have honed it down to ones that
I absolutely need or
love, and get rid of those that are really
just novelties and fun for a day.

I have been a vitamin skeptic for years, having experimented with different types of supplements off and on over the years. I took
folic acid when I decided I wanted to get pregnant, and I encourage my mother to take calcium since the supplements have been shown to help women over 65 maintain healthy bone density. The more I read about vitamins, the more nutritionist and dietitians say to eat your vitamins and that the body processes micronutrients and antioxidants better from food.

Good tidings and cheer are the cherry on top of a
pretty hectic holiday season. Between getting the kids excited and to festivities and shopping for presents, many a mom gets overwhelmed. Does this happen to you?

I find the concept of donning pajamas and cuddling with strangers far creepier than the idea of hooking up with one stranger. (Not that I would do that, oh heavens, no!) Would you ever get into PJs, follow elaborate "no inappropriate touching" rules, and cuddle with a bunch of strangers?
