It's teen week here at Fab, so get ready for bubblegum curls and polka dot Alice + Olivia dresses. This little number was worn by teeny boppers Miley Cyrus, at MTV's TRL, and Monique Coleman, at the
Teen Choice Awards preparty. Funny how both girls wore fuchsia shoes with the bubble hem dress.

I have flashbacks to outfits in the
Sex and the City movie. Not that that's a bad thing, it's just slightly odd, no. Anywho, I stumbled across this
1960's Black Silk Polka Dot Puff Dress, size small/medium ($169) and thought it was one of those dresses that could be funked up a la Carrie or prissed up for Charlotte.
turquoisepassion wore this white ruffle top to work, then took off her cardigan and put on a skirt for play.
Work to play done right. I love how her red polka dot sandals up the fun factor.

Blake Lively and I already showed you how to
cover up in style, but I can't help but bring you one more unique way to get dressed for the swim scene. You're looking at a
Vintage High Waisted Romper, size small/medium, that would go perfectly over
your sizzling bikini. The cutout is fun and the red polka dot print gives it a splash of youth.

I'm seeing spots, and I'm loving it. Marie M Vlasic's
Black Dots ($40) print is a somewhat disorienting play on perspective and light, but in the most pleasurable way possible. Perhaps taking
a cue from New York Fashion Week, Vlasic's polka dots may be trendy, but they also have universal, lasting appeal.

Selma Blair reminded me so much of
American dancer Louise Brooks when she wore Marc Jacobs's jeweled dot dress with her
short bob at the designer's
Fall '08 show at New York Fashion Week. Kate Moss, on the other hand, exudes a more modern, sexy vibe in the same dress, which she just wore at a party in Germany. One can't deny that both ladies are ultra stylish, but each gives off a completely different vibe.

I revisited
Givenchy's Spring '08 collection today and I'm glad I did because it sparked this post. My adoration for Riccardo Tisci's large graphic polka dots led me to do a search for wearable oversized polka-dot dresses. Alas, I discovered this
Maggy London Print Charmeuse Halter Dress ($92, originally $138).

I like to give credit where credit is due, even when it involves
a star that makes many fashion mistakes. Paris Hilton's Marc by Marc Jacobs dot dress she wore to MTV's TRL studios is really pretty. Go Paris for choosing black footwear instead of matchy matchy metallic.

All wardrobes can use a bit of retro from time to time. This
Betsey Johnson Lanica Sandal ($48, originally $160) will put fun back into your step. Aren't they oh so
Dita.

At first glance,
luvpizaman might appear to be
going dotty on us, but after closer examination, it's clear she's not. Mixing dots and pinstripes takes a serious eye for pattern placement. Good eye.
Here's what she has on:
- Shirt: The Limited
- Tank: INC
- Skirt: The Limited
- Shoes: Nine West
Congrats to
luvpizaman!
