I find the perfect kiddie decor in the least likely places. Browsing Urban Outfitters the other day, I dreamed of using knickknacks from the funky store to sass up my daughter's room.
Instead of a boring white lamp base with a green and white polka dot shade, I thought a toot-hootin' owl would be much more fun and imaginative.

The SUCK UK Moon Jar ($40), a luna-like light that comes equipped with a solar-powered cell and rechargeable battery that soaks up sunlight, is new at Elsewares these days. If it looks familiar, it is: it's the dimmer sister of the Sun Jar, which we've raved about before. Still packaged in that traditional mason jar, it automatically flicks on for five hours when it gets dark, or can be turned off with a switch inside.
Etsy seller Hollabee is offering up this handmade table lamp ($60) constructed from hand-printed Birch Forest in gold fabric by Lara Cameron. It ships from Australia, though, so you might want to order early if you want it to arrive for the holidays.

I'm absolutely in love with this LED pear lamp (inquire for price), designed by Pratt Institute industrial design student Nick Foley. It also fits in nicely with the fall- and Halloween-related decor we're featuring this month. Are you as big of a fan as I am?
