Backyard games are a way of making a BBQ fun, instead of sedentary. To keep yourself from lounging with beer bottle in hand, you should investigate
Ladder Golf ($100), aka
Blongo. The word golfis a little misleading because there are no clubs or holes involved in Ladder Golf, and sorry, no golf carts either.

This
folky, colorful game board — for God-knows-what game — was originally used in 19th century America and will cost you a whopping $2,250. If I wanted to play a board game, I'd go for a round of Scrabble, honestly. But obviously, the appeal of this piece for many is its antiquity.

You may have noticed it at the beach, your cousin's barbecue, or the graduation party you went to last weekend. It may just look like adults playing bean bag toss, but it's more than that: It's cornhole.
Cornhole has been, dare I say, sweeping the nation, and it makes a great Memorial Day activity because it's generally pretty portable and basically anyone can play.

We've seen
many effed-up games come out of the '60s, but this one takes the cake pie. Or actually, the players do. They sit around, wind a handle, and wait for a pie to smack 'em in the mug.

If football doesn't float your boat but you still want to have some fun today, Grant Robinson has created a fun game called
Guess-the-Google. Guess-the-Google shows twenty images arranged in a grid formation where you have to guess the keyword that created the montage. Once you open the website click
Launch Project to open the game.

For this week's
Casa Craving Challenge, I asked you to seek out some good looking games. Your finds were quite impressive, and actually I'm considering buying some of them as holiday gifts! Or, just for myself (one for you, two for me).

I've found us the perfect item for a special holiday edition of
Would You Eat This. You may have heard of duck or goose paté, but how about
reindeer paté? It's a paté made from cuts of Swedish Artic Reindeer meat, cognac and spices.

Forget
lacquer trays. Gimme a game board! This
Folk Art Checker Board ($59) is new and nifty at Wisteria, not to mention the answer to my slatted
Nelson bench/coffee table dilemma.

After coming across a
game by
Amanda-La, I was inspired to create "Less or More." Look at each of the graphic-patterned acrylic tables below and guess which one is more expensive.

Over the weekend I was suggesting that you get out and play a fun (and possibly slightly competitive)
game of wiffle ball. Well, I just had to tell you about something I found that will make it even better!
Pink wiffle balls!
