Hello, I am having a particularly difficult time deciding which color to paint my kitchen walls. They came in a brown, which I do not like at all. My tastes are contemporary. Most of the walls are white wainscoting. The living room is gray with a bluish tone, and the dining room is a blue green peacock color, and I want something that would go with both. Hi Casa, I love the idea of making fabric wall art and I am thinking of creating one for my living room wall (which is stark white — I am renting). I was hoping I could ask for some color advice for selecting a fabric. My living room currently has espresso brown and blue colors. Specifically, I have a chocolate brown, modern leather sofa and a lighter colored (I believe it is called stone) microsuede sofa. I also have the taksim tile rug from West Elm in feather gray (which has blue tones to it), and the furniture (coffee table, side table, book cases, TV stand) are all espresso. Any suggestions on what colors I should focus on when shopping for fabric? I'd love to incorporate some new colors in the room but want to make sure it is not too random. Thanks!! Green is said to be a calming, restorative color for bedrooms, but the energy of this room feels a little too excited for me. It's very lush and would definitely provide a wonderful respite to the browns of Autumn, but tell me, would you find this room sleep worthy?

Do You Prefer Colored Gadgets, or Just Colored Cases?

I freak out when a new color of a gadget gets here, because it's just totally fun to see a familiar object rendered in a cool new hue — like the metallic silver option for the Nintendo DS that you can now get in the US! I like having the option of getting to pick the color when I'm make the purchase later. I take it so seriously, like the one time I had a car and got to choose what color would be driving me around. It's an extension of your accessories and the gadget itself (it's no doubt why custom Colorware is popular).On the other hand, there's a conservative part of me that likes basic-colored gadgets, that I can then use cases to temporarily change the color of the exterior. I'm a fashion lover, after all, so I like the variety and to be able to change it up with my outfits! For example, if the iPhone came out in red, I'd pass, choosing instead to sheath mine in pretty colored sleeves and cases.But what about you — do you like getting a gadget in a different color, or do you like just changing its case for your color fix?

I prefer to keep bright colors in accessories, not major pieces.

I have to say, Anthropologie has a great talent for catching my eye, and this new photo from its catalog has given me serious room-decorating envy. I love the saturated wall colors and the interplay of blue and green patterns, including that stunning peacock sofa. Sometimes an overabundance of color is simply too much for the eye to take in, but this room is, in my opinion, positively splendid.
