Tuesdays are big in entertainmentville: Not only do all the new DVD releases
hit Netflix, but new music also pours into stores, including iTunes. So I take a spin through each week's iTunes music releases and pick out some albums and tracks
worthy of a download. Here are today's selections:
Comeback kid: Britney Spears's new album,
Circus, is being described as "adequate" by most reviewers, and from what I've listened to so far, I'd agree.

Britney Spears loves wigs, so it's no surprise to see her
wearing one on
Halloween, before returning to her routine on Saturday. Britney stopped at Starbucks with her cousin and former sidekick Laura Lynn Covington, who seems to be back on good terms. While Kevin got to spend time with their
bumble bee boys for the holiday, Britney revealed details about her new album.

I love the excitement, color, and sense of the unusual that's conveyed on vintage circus posters. These old posters, with their awesome illustrations, must've been a thrill for small-town kids, who probably waited all Summer for the big tent to set up in their town's park. While my favorite circuses today tend to
not involve animals, I've always been drawn to the animal images from these circus posters.

Going to the circus when I was a kid was as American as apple pie – its talented animals and trapeze artists made a stop nearby almost every Summer. Now that I'm older (and wiser), I know that many of these animals live in deplorable conditions so when I read about the
elephant who escaped from his big top duties and was found wandering into someone's Kansas yard, I was kind of surprised – there are traveling circuses still in operation?
I guess I just assumed they went the way of the dinosaur, but when I checked out the
Ringling Brothers website, they have a whole slew of cities and dates for this year's shows!
