If you're braving the mall this Black Friday, chances are you're going to need to refuel at the food court as well. Although there are choices galore on the food front, many of them are high in calories and fat, so here are some healthier options to munch on. They may not be the healthiest choices on the planet, but they're better than succumbing to a Big Mac attack.

I'm not going to lie to you — I love
cheese. I use it all the time to add a hint of flavor, protein, calcium, and cheesy goodness to my foods. I honestly believe that cheese makes everything better.

What is it about Halloween candy that makes it so enticing? All those miniature, bite-size, chocolatey morsels in brightly colored packages are so hard to resist. To prevent myself from eating half a bag of treats, I like to
wait to buy my candy until the day before Halloween, and I also
give out candy I hate.

Being a curious creature, I like to compare things. Recently, I decided to focus on cooking oil. I tend to use
canola and
olive oil when cooking since they're healthy oils, but as I peruse the shelves of oils at the grocery store, there are so many more to choose from.
Chili's is one of those chain restaurants that I'm sure we've all been to at least once. This bar and grill has just about everything from wings to soup, from fajitas to steak. With such a diverse menu, it's nice to see there are some healthier options to choose from like salmon, grilled chicken, and salads.
Baking is always happening at my house, whether it be
cookies,
muffins, or
bread. Not only do I love concocting delicious treats with my girls because it's a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, but I love that I can make scrumptious foods and know they're made with actual ingredients.
I also think it's fun to try out recipes using different flour.

So you grew up drinking cow's milk. Why would you even think of switching? Well, for starters, soymilk is a healthy option because it's cholesterol free, plus it's low in saturated fat and high in protein.

You know how I feel about
breakfast. It really is the most important meal of the day because it jump starts your metabolism and feeds your brain so you're more productive during the day. It helps people maintain their weight and eating breakfast gives you energy to exercise later in the day.

So you stopped off at
Dunkin' Donuts for a coffee, but it's so hot out that you're in the mood for something cooler. Check out the chart below to see how their
cold specialty drinks compare. You may be surprised at how many calories, sodium, and sugar they contain.

The Fourth of July is just around the corner, and I'm sure you're gearing up for some
BBQs. If you're watching your saturated fat and cholesterol intake, veggie burgers are a great option. And according to my
burger poll many of you prefer veggie burgers, too.
