Who wouldn't want a life-size pig table. I personally think it's the bee's knees (or maybe the pig's feet). This Moooi Pig Table ($2,668) is over five feet long, and features a small tray for holding your martini.

Anna Fidler's artwork is a fantastical vision of gorgeous colors and odd landscapes haunted by an undercurrent of malevolent possibility. Fidler, who currently has a painting exhibition at the Pulliam Deffenbaugh Gallery in Portland, mixes cool colors with unexpected shapes to create landscapes that are both alien and familiar. They remind me a little of something you'd see in an illustration for a Tolkien book, and seem haunted by the possibility of imaginary creatures and wild animals creeping into the edges of the painting.

My dog has a sixth sense about squirrels. Even if we're in the truck, and the squirrel is a block away, she knows that it's there, lurking in a tree branch, taunting her with a flick of its tail. They are the bane of her existence, and alternately, her most enjoyable and pointed obsession.

You might already know that I've got a soft spot for the canines, but that still doesn't mean I'm sold on this Charlie Dog Giclee Print ($89.95). Are you?

To my eyes, this stunning Juliska "Harriet" Globe Pendant Lamp ($750) looks like it's taken its inspiration straight from the sea. With its spiny protrusions and round body, it could be a cross between a beach-washed shell and a sea anemone. Though now, instead of hiding under the current, the shape has been reimagined for your home, to hang above a table or elegant foyer space.

I know that most of us pet owners have a soft spot for the four-legged members of our households. But does that mean you'd decorate using them as your inspiration, perhaps with this Fauna Cat Pillow ($84)?

If you're a fan of monkeys or parrots, there's no going wrong with these Natural Display Candleholders (on sale for $59). For the rest of us, though, I'm not so sure . .

The Carved Wood Animal Bookends by Roost ($150) are, in my opinion, equal parts cool, cute, and creepy. Whatever you think, if you park your books against one of these hand-carved shesham wood bookends, it'll definitely be a conversation starter.

Master upholsterer Rodolfo Rocchetti from Rome's Tappezzeria Rocchetti definitely has a great imagination. Rocchetti has made many other well-upholstered, blend-in-anywhere pieces of furniture, but these four sofas are definitely exceptions to that. I'm not sure where you'd put any of these pieces.

A while ago, I showed you home décor that followed in the fashion of The Book of Plants. To balance all of that flora with some fauna, today I have some décor ideas that seem influenced by Albert Seba's Cabinet of Natural Curiosities. Since his book sits right below The Book of Plants on my coffee table (it's a great distraction for kids at dinner parties), it seemed only reasonable to follow up on my first trend alert.
