There was a strong Eastern influence to the collection with head scarves, turbans and
scarf-ties. Smith used plain, basic fabrics such as cheesecloth and linen in
neutral shades for the first half, before breaking in to colour.

As we see the return of separates in the fashion world this trend merges with the architectural vibe to create the tulip skirt. Pencil skirts are a wardrobe essential but tulip skirts make the look a bit edgier and are often more flattering. They feature exaggerated detail on the hips which hides a multitude of sins!

Paisley is a trend that seems to have come out of nowhere. It fits in nicely with this Summer's Boho renaissance (in the form of
Bopo) and has been included in collections by Matthew Williamson, Paul Smith and Paul & Joe.
The traditional Persian fabric adorns dresses this summer for the ultimate festival chic look.

Tie your laces in some oxfords. No longer associated with cheesy salesmen and schoolgirls, flat oxfords have been updated in enough colors and finishes to please every whimsy. Get girlie and wear them with
a flirty floral dress or be '80s inspired and pair them with skinny jeans and a loose top a la Selma Blair.

I hope you wore out your black tights last Winter because party hose will soon put them to shame. Designers continue to play with hosiery and the Fall offerings will be anything but boring black. Don't get me wrong — a black tight is classic — but think about a textured black (Chanel, left, drool), a flowered jewel tone, an artsy statement, or the '80s fave:
pantyhose.
Valentine's Day probably isn't your man's favorite holiday of the year, but you still gotta show your honey your undying love for him. If you're man has metrosexual tendencies, he may enjoy cheeky gifts emblazoned with hearts. If he's more of a macho macho man, steer clear of pink and hearts, and go for deeper red goods.

Smart, suave, and in control. At least that's how The Young Professional wants to be perceived. Although, he's shaking in his boots!

I first saw
Deborah Bowness's wallpapers for sale a few years ago. It was just a poster version of one of her wallpapers, but regardless, I've been craving them ever since. Bowness has been designing and hand-printing wallpapers for seven years.

Every Thursday on CasaSugar, I'll give you a decorating challenge and ask you to go Casa Craving for items that fit the look. (Here's a post explaining
what a Casa Craving is and how to create one.) While browsing the divine web site of
The Rug Company the other day, I came across this Paul Smith Swirl Rug and thought it would be fun try try to design a room around such a loud design.
For this week's
Casa Craving Challenge, I'd like you to design an understated living room with this rug as the centerpiece.
