Last night I stopped by Domino's Home For the Holidays event at the CB2 store in San Francisco. In addition to checking out the inventory, I enjoyed some wine, yummy hors d'oeuvres, and a sneak peek of Domino editor Alison Hall's picks from CB2 for the holidays. I figured I'd give you a little event recap with some photos of the atmosphere, Alison's picks, and the fab CB2 products I've got my eye on.

Perhaps it's just because I love chrysanthemums, but I simply adore the CB2 Burst Rug ($499, reduced from $599). Its design may be a bit pared down, but its cheerful and lively petals make up for it; they're nearly bursting off the rug itself. The brick orange color is also perfect for the Fall season.

Major steal alert: The CB2 Buena Park Chair has been massively marked down. Originally $169, this adorably modern version of a Luxembourg gardens chair is now only $39.95. I don't know how it can be this cheap, but I'm not about to start arguing about it.

Earlier today, I had the good fortune to peruse some of the CB2 items that will be available at San Francisco's new CB2 store, which is opening in Union Square on July 31. San Francisco will be the fourth US city to host a CB2 store, and the first west of Chicago. The new store will feature all of the great furniture and home accessories you find in CB2's catalog in an easily navigable, relaxed 8,000-square-foot retail space.

With the Fourth of July fast approaching, Summer is in full effect. What that often translates to in my world are impromptu outdoor parties. You know when you have a couple friends over for some poolside baking and all of the sudden it looks like a Mardi Gras parade in your backyard?

A friend asked me to find her a handsome wine rack for her bedroom because her recent grad roommates consistently drink any "booze" she leaves in the kitchen. Natch, I agreed. There are plenty of stylish wine racks, so I knew it wouldn't be a difficult task.
