Coveted Crib: Hillclimber House

The interior space of the Hillclimber house by Kovac Architects, takes advantage of the meandering, hill-bound design, which places it on a steep canyon hillside. Built with sustainably harvested wood, the home features clean, spare lines and abundant natural light. Smooth plaster walls contrast nicely with the mix of hardwood and concrete floors and burnished wood details. On the highest level of the home, an infinity edge pool appears to flow over the wall of the home.

Kovac Architects works on both residential and commercial projects, and is distinguished by its spare, clean take on modern design. The firm prides itself on its ability to work successfully in difficult situations, including short deadlines, restrictive property conditions, and small budgets.

the interior finish is beautiful. the exterior has nice elements, but the roof line of the adobelike sections leave me looking for the top. needs something to make those sections look finished? i'd take it.

Bravo... this is a beautiful house, perfect for the lot it was built on.

I love the idea of the pool on the roof; I wish we could see that picture.
