Love It or Hate It? Take Away Bed

Edouard Larmaraud's Take Away Bed (price unlisted), made of wood, cotton, and straw, was created as "a reinterpretation of the concept of hospitality." Historically, farmers would welcome travelers into their homes, but due to city development and crowding, travelers must B.Y.O.B. (bring your own bed). Think of it as the Aero bed gone country.

It looks rather uncomfortable. Like the straw would be sticking you through the cotton all night. Is this a "green" concept gone wrong?

I'll stick with my aero-bed, thank you. If I wanted to sleep on a bed of straw I would find a barn.

I just don't think so. I would think a sleeping bag is a better choice in most cases. Smiling

Are they really twigs and straws? Isn't that thorny and uncomfortable?

I grew up so poor living in a straw hut and we sleep on a straw mat (made of coconut leaves) with a mosquito net strewn on bamboo floors. But straw mats are not that uncomfortable compared with twigs.
