Wrap Star! Map Wrap

Forest Saver Designs Map Wrap ($3) are reclaimed New York City subway and USA topographical maps turned into wrapping paper. It would look great wrapped with a big red bow, but then again—doesn't everything? I appreciate the intention of giving new use to old maps. But I can't shake the feeling that it's more wasteful to purchase this Map Wrap instead of using your own old, unused maps lying around. What do you think? Would you buy it?

Agree... I have an old Rand McNally "map book" of the US that's been sitting in my car (from my only and last cross country driving trip in 1993). The 16 x 20 pages would be perfect for books and I was just thinking I should get rid of this... so I think I'll try this out

Wrapping things in maps is a cute idea, but actually buying map print wrapping paper is just ridiculous.

Go to an estate sale and look for old maps--buy a carton for $5 and use them as wrapping paper instead!!!
