I so recognize the one on the right from West Elm- and even though it's prettier, I always thought it was far, far overpriced.

I think the cheaper one looks nicer. Too-shiny metal always looks cheap to me (think about really shiny hardware on cheap handbags). The shells also look nicer staggered like on the lamp on the left.

on the website for world market the stand and shade are sold seperately. the shade is 19.99 so the whole look is 35 bucks...which is still far cheaper than west elm plus from the pictures i think it looks nicer
