Casa Verde: Plastic Bag Stand

Green designer Danny Seo always has great, simple ideas for greening your home. In
a recent post he writes that when he was thrifting at a local Goodwill, he saw a bunch of toothbrush holders, and immediately thought of using these as plastic bag dryers. All you have to do is stick wooden dowels or chopsticks in the holes where you'd normally stick your toothbrush, and then drape the bag over the stick.

I'm all for environmentalism, but this is ridiculously extreme! I am not going to wash out plastic bags and reuse them. I don't even use plastic bags, but if I did, I sure as hell wouldn't expend my energy on cleaning them.

Or, you could just NOT buy plastic bags and use reusable containers like tupperware or something instead.

If you feel the need to wash your plastic bags for re-use, you can turn them up on a utensil in the dish drain (if you use one of those) and get the same effect. Personally, having something like this bag dryer hanging around would look cluttered!

I would not do it..sorry... I could live without buying them but washing them and hanging them ... my house looks messy as it is and I don't need to add on thanks!

i don't use a lot of plastic bags, never buy any = but my organic food delivery place uses them to keep certain veggies apart, so i reuse them for taking food with me or whatever. i love this idea because, while those purpose-made plastic bag trees (at Gaiam or similar) are great, these "trees" are practically free!
