This amazing light fixture is from the gorgeous Deco-era Paramount Theatre in downtown Oakland, California. I love the formality of the curvature here, as well as the warm light that reflects off the gold-painted ceiling. How would you incorporate this formal brilliance into your own home?

That's fantastic. I think it would be cool to do a gilt ceiling in a very minimalist bathroom, but it wouldn't work with all white, would it? Maybe the terracotta tones (like this picture), plus some deep blue.

But that's not exactly a minimal color scheme. Smiling

If I had cathedral ceiling this would definitely look fabulous. Maybe in a foyer or dining room. I would have the lights on 24/7 (low watt flourescent bulbs, of course) just to admire it's design. I would paint thin lines on the angled ceilings matching with those of the lamp to give an optical illusion.
