Love It or Hate It? The Last One Ashtray

Industreal's The Last One Ashtray (about $20) could be seen as ironic or sincere, depending on who is using it. Either way, I think it's clever and chic. What do you think?

I think it's hilarious. I don't think it'd make someone quit, but I think it'd put a smile on their face.

I don't want any ashtray in my house. It just says "smoking is allowed" in my house

exactly vienvien, having an ashtray means you let people smoke in your house which is gross; also i wouldn't buy it for a gift for someone who smokes because that just says I support the smoking. which i don't. I guess there are worse vices but I just do not see the draw of smoking...at best it makes you smelly and have bad breath and yellow teeth, at worst it kills you with lung cancer...at very worst it kills someone ELSE with second hand smoke lung cancer.

stop smoking people it's seriously nasty...i'll get off my high horse now

ya'll need to lighten up. obvi it's a novelty item, it isn't big enough to use as an actual ashtray. and it says "the last one" on it, as in quitting.

Sheesh. I have love for everyone smokers and non-smokers alike because i know it doesn't effect the person they are on the inside.

I don't like it, but if someone needed it as a physical reminder, then good for them.

It's pretty cute - but I don't see it as anything other than a converstion piece. I quit smoking 8 months ago but I still keep my big butt-cup in my backyard for friends.

Ashtrays stink... so in that regard... I hate it.

However, if it were to help friends and family to stop smoking if they had it in their house... then I would definitely love it.

    So I marked undecided. Smiling

I'm extremely undecided. What's the purpose, really? Should it just be standing around as a reminder? Anyway, the design is neat.

I like it. It's not very functional though. If I bought this for my hubby, he would just complain that there isn't enough room for more than one butt. Sticking out tongue

I'm pretty conflicted about this. It's sort of cute and clever, and I can see how it'd be a good gag gift or novelty item. But on the other hand, I think it cheapens the idea of quitting a bad habit, a sort of desensitization. If every cigarette becomes jokingly "the last one," then how can you take the actual last one seriously? I don't know if I'm explaining this clearly, but as someone who started smoking in college and quit after, I doubt this would have helped me stop.

there is another type of ciggie novelty item.

It is a glass tube. It has a cigarette inside of it, and attached to end of tube is a mini hammer. it says on tube "In case of emergency, use hammer to break glass" hahaha

I would get annoyed having to empty it after each cigarette. Good incentive to quit!

I think it makes an ironic present, but practically speaking, you can't ever use it for more than one cigarette, so I can't imagine it getting much use. Can't believe how judgemental some people are over smoking though...

It's cute. And a good reminder. Every ex-smoker knows you smoke a few "last" ones, before the very last one. Smiling 13 years, ago I had two packs of "last" cigarettes. I recently saw another quitter's ashtray in the shape of red lungs.

I doubt I would pay $20 for it but if it were $10 I'd get it for friends who are trying to quit/need to quit smoking. im a smoker so it wouldnt last long in my house. Though I dont smoke in my house.

Sorry, I just quit smoking in February this year and can't see this as anything but a waste of money. It's not very practical - if you're quitting, why buy ANOTHER ashtray? And it's not going to encourage anyone to quit. Not very kitschy, imo, either. So ... I voted hate.
