A coworker and I recently got into a discussion about eating pomegranates. I grew up eating the juicy pulp surrounding each pomegranate seed, and then spitting out its remains, but she loves eating the entire seed and can't imagine going through the hassle of spitting them out. What about you?

Poms are really good. I eat the seeds. I read somewhere that the seeds are a good source of fiber.

Poms are hard work as it is (but oh so good) why wouldnt i eat the seeds? I think it tastes great.

i have not had one in many many years but im pretty sure i didnt eat the seeds, it just sounds weird to eat the seeds but sound easier, i might just have to try it im not too picky with my foods. i eat the shells of pumpkin seeds which my family thinks im insane for.

I just about panicked 2 weeks ago when I was eating one of these for the first time, seeds and all, and my friend said I was "supposed" to spit out the seeds. After some googling we later learned it was safe to eat them, so I eat the seeds

Yes I eat them. I actually never considered spitting them out. I love pomegranates! I had my first one in the last year, I think. My fiance hates the seeds (they hurt his teeth) but likes the juicy pulp around the seed - I should tell him to just spit out the seeds so we can get more pomegranates!

They're itty bitty tiny seeds. Hardly worth the effort to spit out and I kinda like the crunch after having juice explode in my mouth.

I thought the whole thing was the seed, so when I originally saw this, I just was like so you're biting into like an apple? Then I thought more about it and realized you're sucking the juice off the little seed and spitting it out. Wow! Ultimately I think that just goes to show, I couldn't imagine eating a pomegrante without eating the "seed" with it!
