What cold? It was 90 degrees here yesterday. But when it does get cold, my fuzzy slippers will be ready.

We moved into our new house in January, and having quality windows made a huge difference in summer and winter.

We got new double paned energy efficient windows last year and it's been a dream. No more drafts in the winter! We caulked around our windows and used insulated tape around the doors. Any added insulation to door frames, outlets, etc. makes a big difference.

We also had really useless north facing windows that were tiny and looked onto an ugly building next door. So we got rid of them entirely when we got new windows. The rooms are warmer and having a pretty wall makes up for losing the ugly windows.

we use the draft guards under the door and bring out the xtra blankets from the attic to warm up the beds and we got a storm door with a glass insert this year for the winter and a screen insert for the summer

our days are still pretty warm, about 70-s to 80's, but the nights are definitely starting to get a little chilly... we use draft guards, thats pretty much it. I am dying to get new windows because ours are sooooo old...
we also don't have a fireplace, so we have been looking at those electric fireplace heaters... love the look and heats the room!
