Before and After: Erin84's Bathroom Makeover

Su Casa member Erin84 recently gave the "ugly 70's-style bathroom" in her new condo a major overhaul, and the transformation is a vast improvement. She gutted the space, and then "used subway tiles on the floor and ceramic tiles on the walls." She says, "A new vanity and chandelier make it look like a completely different space." While the original bathroom may not be the biggest eyesore you've ever seen, the new vanity and tiles certainly are much more sophisticated and classic, and the chandelier adds a touch of glamour. Replacing the original trifold mirror with a single wall mirror opens up the space, relieving the bathroom's former cramped feeling. To see the after, read more.

Beautiful, isn't it?

Gorgeous! I love the changes you made. They aren't even that huge but they work. I'm in love with the new lighting fixture, it's great how the light reflects off the wall and the mirror.

I cannot believe how different it looks without major home renovations. Just the addition of knobs on the cabinets tones down the '70s thing seriously. This is very inspiring.

Wow - I really like that makeover, especially the floor tiles. Though, I have to admit, I really like that original light fixture, it's very vintage looking.

Thank you everyone! It was a really fun project and we did it on a budget. We found the mirror in the trash (!!) and painted it white and the chandelier is from Craig's List. We definitely love our new bathroom!

The chandelier is just amazing, it does wonders for the room's character. I also have a soft spot for those 1920's hexagonal tiles, we had them in the house I grew up in and I think they're so charming.

Casa I'm suddenly feeling inspired...and crafty...after reading a whole bunch of your old postings plus this before & after. Maybe my fixer-upper house ISN'T doomed to stay 1980s-BLAH for too much longer, after all.

Thanks Everyone for all the sweet comments! :] Michelin, I love everything from the 20s....like you said, so charming! And Jacrabbit, consider yourself lucky to have a fixer-upper...think of it as a blank slate!
