This Just In: Natalie Portman Says Sorry, Charlie

Natalie Portman has put her 2,541-square-foot, three-bedroom, three-bath condo in Richard Meier's Charles Street building in Manhattan's West Village area on the market for $6.55 million, according to the NY Post. The listing for the property reads:

Spectacular Hudson River and park views are warmed by glorious sunsets in this exquisite home featuring 2 bedrooms, a dining room (or possible third bedroom) and three full baths. The Meier-designed expansive interiors feature luxury finishes.165 Charles is an intimate, impeccably run 16 story full service condominium, featuring 31 exclusive residences. The exceptional amenities and services include 24 hour concierge, state-of-the-art fitness center, 50' infinity-edge lap pool, and professional screening room. Private storage and wine cellar are also available.

The property looks pretty fabulous to me (views!), and like she's spent a pretty penny on the interiors; I can't imagine why she'd want to leave. I wonder if the listing was prompted by her hot and heavy relationship with Devendra Banhart . . . do you think the duo could be setting up shop together? Or do you think she's just downsizing?

But, how does a dining room convert into a bedroom?

Tiabia, it's pretty common for dining rooms to be converted to bedrooms; especially since they're often the most low traffic room in the house. So long as the room is not open plan, it works, and people make do with an armoire if there's no dining room closet.

She's probably just pissed that they won't let her have the elevator to herself. They don't care that she's a celebrity and she wanted special treatment.

Oops, that looked snottier than I meant for it to. There was a blind item reveal on CDAN where she got all nasty about not getting special treatment about the elevators and collecting her mail.

I love all the windows, but where's the privacy? I would install window shades that roll up and down.

About the privacy concerns- the building is on the West Side Highway, and there are no buildings across from it- only the river. From the highway you can sort of see into the lower floor apartments and only right by the windows, but once you're up a couple of floors you can't see anything from the street. Also, I think it is against the rules of the building to hang curtains. They want the building to look sleek and uniform from the outside. But once you don't have any privacy concerns, who could cover those amazing views?!
