Yesterday, I asked who you thought should win Design Star. You can still vote online through Wednesday. To make the most informed decision, I figured I'd show you some photos from each designer's makeover (check out Jen's makeover here). Both designers worked with a New Orleans family whose home had been destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Matt's family, the Oleagas, wanted a comfortable, minimal, and modern space.

To see what the home looked like after Matt redesigned the space, read more.
Are you a fan of Matt's renovation?

Am I the only not impressed with either room...for wanting to be ON TV these rooms have no personality, just painted walls and furniture....it wasn't like they did anything original. Though the families really needed...Nothing blew me away like the first season did with just really unique and special looking places. These all look just utilitarian and bland....maybe it's because I like a layered home with lots of artsy details and personality.

The dining room was the only room I thought looked nice, but not that of a design STAR, sorry matt, I predict you will not be the winner.

just imagine having people over sipping red wine and SPLASH on those white cushions! eek. i think more modern, sleek chairs would have been a better choice.

Not into this at all. The row of rectangle windows looked so bright and beautiful in the before pictures, but after they look small and dark. Don't even get me started on the kitchen....

ive never watched the show but these people are lacking creativity. are they supposed to just create a plain boring room so that ANYONE can live there? i dont get it. they could do so much...

And this is why Top Design is sooooooooooo much better.

Ok, each final designer's rooms are soooo boring, it is just so disappointing!! You know what this room needed... Drapery!! Grommet Drapery would have been a very simple way to make the room feel whole. It could have been a dark sleek brown and it would still have a modern feeling, but made it more cozy and filled up the space. Also, all of the pictures are the wrong scale. The vase just looks stupid on the dining room table with the beautiful linear chandelier. The table, chairs and chandelier look wonderful together, but again drapery was needed. It was a good start but finale material... um no.

Oooh, Urban Chic you are so right. I think if they hadn't been limited on time they would have done more of those important finishing details.
