Luckily I rarely have to worry about this and can just drop it in the bin on trash day.

I definitely need that newspaper stacker. I just let the mags and newspaper stack on the floor and end up all over the garage. I've also checked out some bins at the stores but for the comfortable price range the bins are way too small. I don't want to be emptying out the bins on a daily basis.

We use a cardboard box for paper and a crate ("borrowed" from Quick Check years ago) for our mixed recyclables.

We actually have it pretty easy. We send mixed recyclables to the curb. Yard waste and greenery are picked up seperately and taken to the city's composting site.

So under the kitchen sink, hidden completely from view, you'll find a Tidy Cat cat litter bucket with a hinged lid. My husband removes and empties this bin daily into a larger bin that stands in his utility shed in the backyard. Newspapers and the like are collected and stacked into an old laundry basket. When it's full they're bundled and put out on the required day.

Honestly, I don't see any reason to go out and buy bins and things in order to facilitate recycling. I try to stay true to the core and recycle using recycled bins, etc. What I am strongly considering is composting. The question is just where to put the bin/bucket/whatever container.

I just bought a blue tub (like the one in the pic next to the truck) at home depot for $11, they have different sizes. Its great i have it in the kitchen beside a cabinet and we put our cans and bottles in it. I love it! I used to just have a bag under the kitchen sink but it always seemed to overflow and fall all over the floor when i opened the cabinet, plus for some reason my husband would just leave the water bottles on the counter and i would have to put them under the sink and it drove me crazy. Now he just throws them in the bin and it is so much easier.

Im lucky we can mix all our recyclables together so I just got a big one of those cheap plastic sotrage bins (after x-mas when they are dirt cheap) and put it in a spot where I can throw all my recylceable in it from across the room (HAHAHA laziness is the mother of invention) and I never realized before how much I was throwing away in the garbage because we hardly need to throw the trash out maybe 3 times a week where as before it was almost everyday. Our city also handed out trash cans for yard clippings (we can no longer put them in the street for pick-up) and we use that for our compostables.

I was going to make my own bin system this summer, but I might just pick up one of those Bed Bath & Beyond ones instead. Pretty neat.

i hate that my city doesn't have curbside recycling. I have to drive to the town over to recycle and my parents aren't very cooperative on recycling. But strangely my mom told me before I was born they were into composting! Maybe this summer I can convince them to start up again.

i have some white bins with a flip top lid from IKEA that i stack and fit under our island, and then a nice basket for near our desks for paper.

LOL, good for us for recycling, yet buying one of these bins costs a fortune.
