Crave Worthy: Philippe Starck Louis Ghost Chair

I know, I know. I'm a bit behind the clock to be declaring this now. But, Philippe Starck Louis Ghost Chair ($410), have I told you lately that I love you? It just occurred to me that I had yet to introduce Louis Ghost as a Crave Worthy, and since I'm of the persuasion that it's never too late, here it is. Philippe Starck introduced the chair in 2002 modernizing the classic Louis XVI chair (a design that originated during the King's reign) with clear Lucite. This type of daring refashioning of an old design is a token Philippe Starck move. But, six years old, the Louis Ghost has already become a classic and Starck himself has since updated it, offering up new colors and the option of adding a custom decoration (like a decal) to it. Can you think of a modern design that's more alluring than this? I honestly don't think I'll ever be over it; it's my undying flame.

I like it but wouldn't pay $410 for a chair. Lucite furniture works very well in small spaces.

I have been OBSESSED with this chair for a long time. My husband just redid his office and he got 2 of them! I am SOOOOOOO jealous!
ALSO, they just came out with kid sized ghost chairs. Pinch me!

My biggest fear about this chair, is that someone might spot me sitting in it from BEHIND. No matter how cute your booty is, I can't imagine it would look very pretty smushed up against the back of a plexi chair. For that reason, I'd go with an opaque version (though otherwise, I agree that while a little bit dated, it is quite appealing.)

This was the first piece of furniture I bought when I purchased my condo.... Although it was cheaper back in 2006, and once in a while highbrowfurniture.com has sales.

But shhh.... don't let my boyfriend know how much it costs cuz I eventually want 3 more (for my dining table). It currently serves as a side chair in the living room, or office chair.
